Sweet treats

When I get a minute I enjoy to bake and make sweet things, especially on rainy days with M. So here I'm sharing pictures and recipes. Enjoy!

Shortbread men

You will need:
  • 200g of unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • 300g of plain flour
  • 100g of sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • A rolling pin
  • A biscuit cutter
  1. Preheat the oven to gas mark 3/160C/325F
  2. Mix together the butter and the sugar until pale and smooth. You can use your hands, a fork or an electric whisk.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and then gently mix in the flour. Use you hands to squeeze the mixture into a ball.
  4. Dust some flour onto your work surface and begin to roll your dough out to about half a centimetre thick.
  5. Using your chosen biscuit cutter, cut into shapes and place onto a non stick baking tray.
  6. Before baking, sprinkle the biscuits with sugar.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown.
